You Found Me

You Found Me

Why are these Summer eyes still raking the fall leaves?
Even in Winter I see your beauty
Why when my eyes are shut on cold wind
Are yours still warm, inviting me in?
Is this mystery or simply gift?
Maybe the lost gaze I cast isn't empty
Or only avoiding a full stop
I really thought you left me here
So, wrong each turning year I halt
My searching finds that promise
I know I cannot hide
Your laughing chirp does not deride
Only my mistaken cry of lost
