Breeze/ Birds, Bugs, Other

Breeze/ Birds, Bugs, Other

Crawling hopping flying beings
The leaves by leaving
Give their water back to sticks and trunks
Give their water up to eyes and mem-brains
Which all remember summer
Only light and starlight, too, will move the life around
When each leaf feels the best light is shone
It will wait alone
Maybe soon, maybe tomorrow
(Bugs, Birds...beings)
A little more changing, Life for life.

When it's the breeze, especially wind
The twigs and bark lean back and forth
Giving the leaf some life, water...sap stuff
Plenty for the extended fall
Taken by wind. And a quick fall
Given back slowly by creatures
When the wind is still or even stars covered by clouds
Not moving, still moving leaf water, stored daylight
Into more moving up the branch down the trunk
Into the easy ground, easily found, sunken by cold air
Quite open, also knowing, each warm shine is rare today, this year
Again.
